Kyodoryori Ofukuronoaji Hayakawa has been loved in Kumamoto since opened in 1971. A course with several dishes using seasonal local ingredients is very popular (reservation required). The combination of Kumamoto’s sake and a variety of local dishes which bring back memories of Kumamoto, or special local dishes such as “Suizenji nori” which is quite rare and hard to taste elsewhere, “Shimofuri basashi (marbled horse meat sashimi)”, horse lever sashimi and “Umajiru (horse meat soup)” is fantastic. There are a counter table and some types of private rooms with “horigotatsu table (table seat built into floors)” which are suitable for any meal occasions from solo-meals to groups.
